As the launch of Apple’s iPhone 15 nears, the tech world buzzes with anticipation. The iPhone 15, expected to be unveiled in September 2023, is speculated to bring a slew of upgrades over its predecessors, setting new standards in smartphone technology.
According to the information swirling around the tech sphere, the iPhone 15 models are expected to feature USB-C instead of the current Lightning port, faster modem chips, and upgraded camera technology. Additionally, Apple is expected to continue its previous models’ screen sizes, offering two 6.1-inch iPhones and two 6.7-inch iPhones. The lineup will include the standard iPhone 15, iPhone 15 “Plus”, and the more expensive “Pro” models.
One major design change that all iPhone 15 models are expected to embrace is the ‘Dynamic Island’, a feature that was introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro models. This change will enable a sleeker, less intrusive design, doing away with the notch that Apple has used since the iPhone X for its flagship lineup.
Adding to the list of expected features, the iPhone 15 models are likely to boast an upgraded A16 chip (for the standard models) and a more efficient 3-nanometer A17 chip (for the Pro models). The Pro models are also rumored to have titanium frames, slimmer bezels, and minor design changes with more curved device edges. A significant enhancement in the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the introduction of the periscope lens technology, which is expected to provide enhanced zoom capabilities.
One of the most surprising upgrades, as revealed by respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, is the introduction of a next-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip in all iPhone 15 models. This chip will shift from a 16nm to a 7nm production process, allowing for improved performance or reduced power consumption for nearby interactions.
Despite these substantial upgrades, the pricing for the iPhone 15 models is expected to remain similar to the previous generation, with the entry-level 6.1-inch device starting at $799 and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus starting at $899.
The expected launch dates for the iPhone 15 models range from September 12 to 13, 2023, with pre-orders likely starting from September 15. The new models are speculated to be available in stores approx from September 22, 2023.
