Every new Fortnite season, Epic Games introduces new items and vaults/unvaults different weapons to provide balance after the meta changes. This makes the OG battle royale game more intense as players need to change their former favorite loadouts. This tier list will inform you about the five meta weapons in Fortnite BR.
Weapons in Fortnite are classified under seven categories: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Exotic. The Exotic weapons were vaulted in Chapter 5 Season 1. As such, Mythic weapons are of the top tier because they contain the most number of attachments or mods for increased damage.
While equipping the best weapons in Fortnite Battle Royale gives players an edge over other players, obtaining them isn’t a simple task. Society Bosses drop Mythic weapons upon being defeated while the other meta weapons have a low drop rate.
Below are the five best weapons in Fortnite BR:-
The best version of the Enforcer AR, the Diamond Heart’s Assault Rifle, can be acquired after defeating Montague NPC Boss at Grand Glacier. Boasting a damage-per-second (DPS) output of almost 162 due to its mag capacity of 25 rounds, it deals consistent damage per bullet albeit being a bit slow.
Montague’s Enforcer AR comes with a pre-fixed x2 Scope, a Drum Magazine for increased magazine and decreased reload speed, and a Vertical Foregrip and Muzzle Break for better ADS and recoil handling.
Nisha’s Striker AR has the same magazine capacity compared to Diamond Heart’s Enforcer AR. However, it has a better fire rate and DPS than its rival AR, dealing 234 damage at an 8.1 rate-of-fire which is somewhat similar to those of Submachine Guns (SMGs).
Obtained as a drop after defeating Boss Nisha at Fencing Fields, the Mythic Striker Assault Rifle has a Red Dot, Speed Mag, Angled Foregrip to control recoil, and a Suppressor for noiseless shots as pre-fixed mods.
The Reaper Sniper Rifle is a meta weapon given the fact that it is the only sniper rifle available in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. The Legendary variant of the sniper holds three rounds and deals 121 damage per bullet. With a Headshot Multiplier of x2.5, it can eliminate Shielded enemies at mid-to-long distances with a single shot.
Mastering the recoil of Reaper Sniper takes time once you obtain the weapon in Fortnite BR by opening Rare Chests.
The Lock-On Pistol doesn’t get enough credit as a meta. Even though it takes a couple of seconds to lock onto targets, allowing the enemy to fire or dodge, it still has the special ability to spot enemies hiding in bushes. The pistol is especially useful to finish enemies or take players by surprise after sneaking up on them.
The Lock-On Pistol is an incredibly rare floor loot and Chest loot. Obtaining one is similar to finding gold dust after the Fortnite developers seemingly decreased its spawn rate in Chapter 5.
Oscar is one of the toughest NPC Bosses in Fortnite because of its arsenal of Cluster Grenades and a super-powerful shotgun. Defeating the tiger in Lavish Lair will reward players with the Mythic version of Frenzy Auto Shotgun.
Oscar’ Frenzy Shotgun has a Damage and DPS rate of 78 and 195, respectively. Equipped with a Red Dott, it also has pre-fixed Drum Mag, Vertical Foregrip, and Muzzle Break. This is the better alternative compared to the Pump-Action Shorty.
